Overview:
We are looking to fill 2 seasonal full-time positions. The person in this position will handle general maintenance construction and tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities:

In this role you will be responsible for the following:

  • General manual maintenance work including repair of irrigation, drainage systems, fences, gates, roads, show props, and exhibits.
  • Maintain tools and equipment and report problems to Building Engineer.
  • Assist Construction & Maintenance Manager in other areas as required.

Qualifications:

Our ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Able to use shovel, pick, and sledgehammer in all types of weather and ground conditions
  • Can work independently
  • Must be able to lift 60 pounds
  • Licensed driver in Illinois insurable by the Chicago Botanic Garden

*The Chicago Botanic Garden requires all existing employees to be fully COVID-19 vaccinated by October 15, 2021; hires after this date must be fully vaccinated upon hire or may request a medical/religious exemption after an offer is extended.*

Physical Demands:
Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, in outdoor settings. Some requirements for lifting, pushing, or pulling items up to 100 pounds.
