School Social Worker 2023-2024 Job at Washington County Public Schools
- Master-level licensed clinical social worker (LCSW-C) or Master-level social worker (LMSW) with LCSW-C obtained within three years of employment.
- Experience in working with families of young children and adolescents.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- At least five years’ successful social work experience.
- Knowledge of state and federal laws and educational mandates.
- Excellent human relations skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with administrators, counselors, and school staff.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
- Able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodations.
- Perform casework service with individual students to correct personal, social, or emotional maladjustments related to their educational and social progress.
- Perform casework service with parents to increase the parents’ understanding, their constructive participation in resolving their child’s problems, and their knowledge and use of appropriate resources available.
- Consult and collaborate with other school personnel and agencies in gathering and giving information on a case, and in establishing and planning for respective roles in the modifications of the student’s behavior.
- Make home visits for the purposes of gathering helpful information on a student’s background.
- Serve as a liaison between home and school when considerable follow-up is necessary.
- Demonstrate courteous and professional treatment of all students, parents, and employees of Washington County Public Schools.
- Perform other appropriate duties as assigned.
