Licensed Professional will work during the school year to coordinate with the academic setting in arranging outpatient therapy services within the individual served natural school setting. During summer months Licensed Professionals must be willing to continue to see individuals within school settings, office settings or assist other clinical departments to help maintain salary needs. This person must be willing to travel, have good customer service and communication skills in order to work alongside school counselors, principals, social workers and nurses. This personal also must be willing to travel into homes to complete Comprehensive Clinical Assessments when needed to meet the parents where they are in initiating services. Responsible for providing psychotherapy to individuals served in an individual, family, or group setting to help reduce and manage symptoms. Provide direct clinical care, service planning and implementation. Delivery of services requires flexibility and ability to develop interventions that draw upon strengths, capacities and resources available in Northeastern NC. Must have the following Knowledge/Skills: Thorough knowledge of Social work, Psychology, diagnostic classification and the dynamics of outpatient therapy and mental health concepts. Normal and abnormal psychology; Evaluation and various forms of psychotherapy; intervention and patient counseling processes, techniques, and method. Mental health care facility programs and procedures. Addiction and dynamics of substance use; crisis intervention and suicide assessment methods. Considerable knowledge of treatment involving psychotropic medications. Ability to perform under adverse crisis situations. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with multi-disciplinary treatment teams, executives, professionals, administrators, and the general public Strong psycho educational and individual, group, and family counseling skills, Strong diagnostic and assessment skills, Strong family/caregivers training and consultation skills, strong service planning and implementation skills; Excellent problem-solving skills.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

At least a Master’s Degree and holds an unrestricted license (full or provisional), certificate, registration, issued by the board regulating the professional in question, in the following discipline: PhD Psychologist, Psychiatrist, Certified Clinical Social Worker, Clinical Nurse Specialist certified in Psychiatric Mental Health Advanced Practice nursing or Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

A Provisionally Licensed Professional who fills the licensed professional position must be fully licensed within 30 months from date of hire.
