Description


Building Products will implement digital capabilities to standardize and transform our foundational processes and systems. We have already begun predecessor activities to best equip us for this multi-year transformation journey.

We will employ a process-based, phased approach to address data visibility and quality, inconsistent and manual processes, and limited technology capabilities. This approach will apply learnings from similar programs and leverage talent across Building Products.

Our Team


The SAP BTP Lead will be responsible for BTP configuration, development and testing to support applications for the GP Building Products WoodDUCK initiative. Specifically, as a part of WoodDUCK initiative building a new application on BTP platform leveraging services on BTP and capabilities of backend S/4 HANA to create an end-to-end solution for GP WoodDUCK. Functionalities primarily include quote management, order management, price management and sales grid.

The SAP BTP Lead will develop a comprehensive understanding of the business requirements and collaborate with functional and technical teams, internal and external, to design, configure and develop solutions, execute deliverables, and ensure delivery of solutions that supports business outcomes. From the functional requirements, work closely with functional analysts and technical resources to design and implement solutions. Support unit tests, integration tests, business process tests and volume/performance tests.

What You Will Do

    • Work with functional teams to understand business requirements and review functional specifications.
    • Work collaboratively with solution architects, technical teams and functional teams to design solutions.
    • Provide solution alternatives, recommendations and estimates for SAP BTP configuration and development.
    • Use your technical knowledge to come up to speed on new technologies and tools required for SAP development and support.
    • Establish and enforce development standards and guidelines, provide inputs into development approach.
    • Ensure development aligns to long-term strategies and architectural principles.
    • Leverage agile tools and methodologies for development.
    • Conduct and participate in specification/design reviews.
    • Develop technical specifications based on functional specifications.
    • Review technical documentation, participate in code reviews, provide feedback and provide sign-off.
    • Participate in and support testing of development objects. Ensure testing is documented and executed.
    • Report status of deliverables.
    • Identify and raise issues and develop alternatives to mitigate issues.
    • Identify cutover/implementation tasks and support cutover activities.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience of IT SAP Development
  • Strong hands-on experience in SAP BTP services, Cloud Foundry, CAP Framework and Java Scripting.
  • Working knowledge of SAP HANA technical concepts (e.g. Denodo, AMDP, CDS, OData) and architecture
  • Hands on experience using SAPUI5 Programming techniques with quality-driven methodology, including analysis and design of specifications, development, and testing.
  • Development experience in Business Application Studio

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Hands on experience using the SAP Business Technology Platform services like the below but not limited to HTML Repository, Application Autoscaler, Destination Service, Application Logging Service, Event Mesh, CICD Service, CPI integration, Authorization and Authentication Services
  • Experience developing extensions on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP)
  • Understanding of NodeJS, CICD Pipelines and Automated Testing
  • Understanding of Docker/Kubernetes, NestJS, ReactJS, Typescript
  • Experience serving in a lead role for custom enterprise application development and production support.
  • Experience leading teams in onshore/offshore model.
