A/V Systems Technician
American Cruise Lines, the largest cruise line in the United States, is offering an exciting opportunity to join our shipside team as an A/V System Technician. The A/V System Technician will be responsible for routine operation, level 1 support, maintenance, and troubleshooting of onboard A/V technology including sound, video and limited IT equipment. The position will work closely with shoreside IT to become A/V SMEs for 1-4 ships in their territory.
Responsibilities:
- Install media equipment including LCP projectors, speakers, TVs & cameras.
- Limited electrical wiring, programming & AV equipment rack installation.
- Basic laptop & printer support including mapping printers, connecting laptops to WiFi.
- Phone system support.
- Quality Control testing on a routine basis.
- Monitor ship systems to ensure maximum uptime and seamless use by ship personnel.
- Perform data transfer between corporate and shipside systems.
- Act as the ship resource coordinating vendor support engagement.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Two years of experience as an A/V technician.
- CCTV installation & access control.
- Audio Visual / Public Address System background.
- A+, Network+ and Microsoft OS proficient.
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems, computer and peripheral hardware and software.
- Knowledge in help desk software methodology.
- Experience with Windows 7-10.
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to interact well with diverse end-users and technical staff are required.
- Individual must be detail-oriented and able to independently and successfully troubleshoot resolve technology problems for staff.
- Must be located locally in Providence, RI.
- 25% travel required to our ships as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exacqvision, Shortel and Assa Abloy key-card system experience a plus.
- Card key, video surveillance, and PA system support.
- CompTIA A+ certification a plus.
