As a Roofing Surveyor for our Commercial Roofing Division you will be responsible for collecting all photos, accurately measuring roof dimensions and data required for a proper and complete assessment of the existing roof, and creating a budget and/or proposal to maintain and/or replace the roof system. You will work in conjunction with multiple departments within the Commercial Roofing Division to ensure the success of the assigned project. This position will require travel to various locations where the Company may be performing work.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assess conditions of the job site upon arrival
  • Take detailed measurements of roof planes, vents, dormers, and chimneys
  • Recognize and notate the existing roof’s material
  • Capture detailed images of the roof, obstructions, damages, etc.
  • Prepare accurate notes of said measurements, obstructions, damages, etc.
  • Verify the accuracy of the data that was retrieved by reviewing the job site thoroughly
  • Upload site assessment documentation into the cloud storage software and CRM in a timely manner
  • Work with multiple departments within the Commercial Roofing Division throughout the lifetime of the project to ensure the success of the project
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Ability to work independently with minimal to no supervision
  • Strong time management skills required
  • Comfortable working with a variety of technological hardware and software
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel, etc.
  • Must be highly punctual and organized
  • Must have great attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to resolve problems independently
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • High school diploma or general education (GED) required
  • Some college preferred but not required
  • Must have a clean driving record (MVR) and maintain a clean driving record during the duration of employment necessary for the successful completion of job responsibilities
  • 2-3 years of experience in commercial roofing
  • 1-2 years of experience as a roofing site surveyor
  • Past low slope roofing experience; preferably at an intermediate to expert level
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 80% of the time

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Comfortable and able to work at heights and walk on all roof types
  • Able to safely lift 50 pounds regularly
  • Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, or crouch for extended periods
  • Must be able to safely climb a standard ladder or scaffolding
  • Able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time
