Robotics Team Advisor
This job will be running a vex team for 1 1/2 hours at Sunrise High.
As a team coach, you’ll be the person who handles all or most of the behind-the-scenes tasks for your team. Many of the things you need to do while forming a team are covered in the article Starting a VRC Team, and it's worth a read. During a robotics season, you’ll have a variety of administrative and educational responsibilities, including:
- Assembling and registering a team
- Buying equipment
- Finding space for the team to build and practice
- Recruiting mentors
- Communicating with team members and families
- Registering teams for events
- Supervising teams at events, or recruiting adult volunteers to supervise
- Helping students find and use resources
- Run science & prevention programs as directed and scheduled at the Center. Meet program goals as needed.
- Work with Site Directors to determining the resources needed to complete scheduled activities and help provide them.
- Complete trainings as required and planning as needed.
- Maintain building and rooms in center, clean and store supplies and equipment as needed.
- Back up other program staff. Assist with front desk and programs for other age groups as needed.
- Mentor youth, assist with academic tutoring and life planning.
- Transport youth to the Club and on field trips as scheduled. Assist with van maintenance and follow all transportation policies. Report maintenance needs to administration and facilitate work. Follow all van safety rules.
- Program Recruiting – recruit youth to attend regularly, maintain appropriate communication with members and families.
- Complete all funding and safety and procedural requirements. Maintain Data as directed, complete reports as required, maintain all documentation as required.
- Communicate with director on staff and program needs.
- Other Duties as Assigned.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
