Overview:
This position is working 60 hours every two weeks, on the night shift, working 12 hour shifts and works every third weekend.

This RN will provide pre and post transplant care for patient with oncological and hematological disorders. Care is provided for high dose chemotherapy, pain management, conscious sedation, intensive care, and hemodynamic monitoring. The unit also provides care for patients priming for stem cell collection, as well as innovative cellular therapies and immunotherapies. The bed capacity is 30 in newly remodeled private suites.

Responsibilities/Job Description:
The RN will provide complex care to adult patients and families preparing for and undergoing blood and marrow transplantation. They will perform advanced monitoring using current technology, and manage complex medication and infusion therapies. In addition, they will care for patient undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures/interventions on the unit. A demonstration of the ability to safely and accurately operate unit equipment is necessary.

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN will perform these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.
Qualifications:
Required:
  • MN RN License
  • BLS required
  • AD required

Preferred:
  • BSN or higher preferred
  • Certification in related specialty is highly desired
  • One year current oncology experience is preferred
  • One year of current medical/surgical RN experience in a hospital setting is desired
