Job Title: Residential Handyman

Full-Time position - 40 hours per week

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Salary: $52,000 per year

The ideal candidate will have two (2) or more years of experience in construction/maintenance of residential and commercial buildings and grounds including troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance. Must be able to assemble and use all tools, supplies, and instruments necessary to complete the job. Must supply your own hand tools (LWMC will supply the vehicle) Must have a strong customer service approach in dealing with a wide variety of owners, residents, and contractor issues.

Leisure World of Maryland Corporation (LWMC), the property management company for Leisure World of Maryland, is a private, age-restricted community comprised of 29 community associations representing over 5,600 homes and extensive Trust operations, located in Silver Spring, MD. All work will be done on property.

The Residential Handyman is responsible for construction, remodeling, and maintenance projects throughout the property of Leisure World Community. This will include property maintenance for residents and common buildings. This position requires a customer service approach in dealing with a wide variety of customer interactions and contractor concerns.

We are looking for someone who has broad experience in the following areas:

• General Carpentry
• Drywall repairs, installation, and finishing
• Repairing and replacing of doors (interior and exterior)
• Gutter cleaning
• Shaping and cutting materials to specified measurements using hand and power tools
• Finishing surfaces of woodwork or wallboard using paint, hand tools, and other materials as applicable
• Filing and sanding cracks and other defects in plaster/plasterboard

This position will require that the Residential Handyman maintain a daily job log of all services performed and communicates professionally with the customer. Work orders must be filled out and turned in after completion of the job and ensure that the customer is satisfied with the job upon completion.
