Cal Poly Pomona Foundation is currently searching for one Part-Time Research Assistant to work in the NSF Multigenerational Household Grant, College of Letters, Arts, & Social Sciences, Department of Geography and Anthropology under the supervision of Dr. Amy Dao, Principal Investigator.


POSITION OVERVIEW:

The research assistant will assist a National Science Foundation-funded project which seeks to improve public health responses to the pandemic for multigenerational households. Specifically, the research assistant will help the PI in all aspects of the project including but not limited to: data collection, organization and management, conducting and transcribing interviews; recruitment of people into study; material preparation including translation services, and IRB protocol changes; literature reviews; sorting, filing, and organizing all research materials and data; data entry; data entry; data coding; data analysis; report preparation.


MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Must have a high school degree with research experience.

PREFERRED:
The ideal candidate is well versed in qualitative research methods and understands how to apply research to inform action-oriented recommendations. Students enrolled in an anthropology, sociology, or health-related degree will be considered. Qualitative training/experience is preferred (evidence can be from taking a methods course or experience working on a project). Must possess excellent communication, self-starter, leadership skills and have the ability work independently. Must also positively interact with other students, faculty and staff. Must be willing to complete training in human subject ethics (CITI).

WE OFFER:

  • This is a 10-20 hour per week, non-benefited, non-exempt position
  • $15.00 an hour
