Research and Development Technician Job at Hormann US
Hörmann High Performance Doors, a rapidly growing division of a world leading manufacturer of high performance industrial doors, is seeking a Research and Development Technician based in their Burgettstown, PA location.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in new product development of high speed fabric, sectional, and rolling steel doors
- Work with the engineering group to enhance product function, reliability and serviceability
- Fabricate and install prototype components
- Install doors for testing
- Conduct and document testing of doors and components
- Be the primary resource in preparing and conducting static and dynamic windload tests including maintenance of test equipment
- Act on Engineering Change Requests as needed
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel)
- Knowledge of architectural testing and international building codes a plus
- Analytical problem solver
- Ability to operate a variety of tools and equipment
- Able to work with minimal supervision and accomplish goals in a timely manner
- Experience with 2d and 3d CAD; Pro-Engineer/CREO a plus
- Effective communicator
- Ability to troubleshoot and correct issues
- Ability to work in a group environment
Education
- AS in Engineering an engineering discipline or 3 years of relevant experience
