The Eldercare Specialist is responsible for researching, compiling and delivering five pre-screened resources pertinent to the client's specific needs through telephonic and internet research within two business days. Requests may include information on short- and long-term care options, living options, insurance qualifications, rehabilitative facilities/equipment, and similar geriatric resources.

The Eldercare Specialist is also responsible for providing consultations to clients who require more personalized guidance on elder care issues.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide friendly and expert telephonic consultation with clients nationwide regarding the specifics of their request. The consultation will include recommendations for care and educating the client on available resources nationwide.
  • Explain and guide clients through possible eldercare options including: Adult Day Care, Assisted Living, Home Health, Independent living, Nursing Homes, Hospice Care, Medicare, Medicaid, Long Term Care Insurance, Care plans, Caregiver Support and local resources.
  • Demonstrate a true passion for elder care and a high comfort level of speaking with elders and their care givers.
  • Relate to people in times of stress, ask appropriate questions, problem solve, and present options in a calming and reassuring manner.
  • Apply analytical thinking to each request for efficient online research to find a minimum of five referrals.
  • Referrals will be pre-screened via telephone to determine if the resource best meets the needs of the client.
  • Format research into comprehensive referral packets utilizing ComPsych Work-Life branding and quality standards within two business days.
  • Meet Work Life standard of completing three requests per day while maintaining quality standards. As tenure grows attaining a higher request completion rate per day is expected.
  • Support the implementation and innovation of on-going process improvement objectives, new products and special projects as assigned.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and phone skills in order to efficiently obtain resources and referrals that will sufficiently meet the client's needs
  • Work independently as well as foster a positive team environment by sharing research findings and referrals for work life packages with other team members.

Job Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree (required) Gerontology, Psychology, Sociology or related field
  • Experience working in nursing home admissions, eldercare day programs, or a geriatric setting a plus
  • Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid a plus
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Bi-lingual a plus!
