The Medical Assistant (MA) under the direction of a physician, provides various medical care and related services. The Medical Assistant is a key member of a patient centric care delivery model for high quality and service within the office setting. Performs at or above the standards of care set for the superior patient experience in clinical and non-clinical settings. Able to proficiently and effectively navigate through multiple information technology platforms and applications to provide and support best practices/protocols, value based care, supporting, implementing, and demonstrating the core values of our organization. They may assist physicians in examining patients and/or handle office duties including reception & phone triage.

Employee with a willingness to travel (less than 25% Of the time) to our satellite offices when needed.

REPORTS TO: Physician, Director, or Clinical Supervisor.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :

-Maintains a professional demeanor at all times with patients and co- workers.

-Maintain patient confidentiality at all times, including Refraining from discussions about patients in the nursing area when other patients are present.

-Ability to work with Different physicians from day to day.

-Prepare treatment rooms for the examination of patients.

-Document initial assessment including vital signs, height, weight, and reason for appointment in EMR.

-Operate equipment such as EKG machine, RBS, and other diagnostic testing ordered by the physician.

-Administer IM, SQ, or ID injections and document in EMR

-Assist the physician in minor surgical procedures.

-Knowledgeable of emergency management of patients in need of oxygen, ongoing monitoring of vital signs, chest pain, allergic reaction, and any emergency situation.

-Assist with pulling charts and ensuring test results are in the medical record.

-Input necessary billing information into EMR daily.

-Schedule referrals to other physicians, diagnostic testing, or procedures & obtain Prior Authorizations

-Any other duties or unrelated services that may be assigned from time to time as the above statements reflect the general outline considered necessary to describe the principle functions of this job. It shall not be considered as a detailed description of all work requirements of this position. Must be able to meet competency-testing requirements.
