Job Purpose

Contributes to the establishment of the regional manufacturing strategy in collaboration with the other members of the regional manufacturing team. Consults with site managers and engineering staff to develop projects and implement best practices. Contributes to the implementation of the regional manufacturing strategy, by developing and managing specific regional manufacturing projects such as large engineering & capex projects, manufacturing innovation, volume relocation, new product introduction, IT systems implementation, FMC cost reduction, MME, OEE improvement.

Preferred Location: Pontiac, Michigan/Columbus, Ohio or High Point, North Carolina/Lancaster, South Carolina

Job Responsibilities

  • Directly manage all aspects of project lifecycle for assigned engineering and supply chain projects across different sites.
  • Contributes to the establishment of the regional manufacturing strategy by developing and prioritizing the capital investment plan and Advising the Regional Manufacturing Director on opportunities to improve regional manufacturing.
  • Execute the regional manufacturing strategy established by the regional manufacturing team
  • Develops and maintains systems to track regional projects, project progress, status and budget position for project portfolio and report on the same.
  • Ensures compliance of engineering and project execution with all relevant Akzo Nobel and external engineering RAGAGEP, codes and safety standards
  • Formulates, organizes and implements projects and improvement actions to the highest standards, ensuring targets on customer service, safety, cost, quality and capital are achieved.
  • Determines the required resources, manages the project budget, and assigns responsibilities to individual members of the project team.
  • Manages day-to-day operational aspects of the project and reviews deliverables prepared by project members.
  • Applies project and business process improvement methodology and enforces project standards.
  • Prepares for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Project management certification/diploma in PM or AN internal training (LPM, SPM, Helios)
  • 10+ years' experience in a relevant business environment with CAPEX and Engineering management experience, preferably in an international environment
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office and Projects, expert level in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong AutoCAD skills and good PHA Pro skills

Compensation Data

  • $144,000.00 - $160.000.00. Eligible for annual bonus of 20%.
