Overview:
The position provide key support for the plant management system in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, customer and coporate requirements. The position reports on problems and suggests continuous improvements to the management system and lower level work instructions. This postion coordinatess internal audit activities, maintains document control, tracks metrics related to, and keeps records up to date as required by the management system. This position is expected to work cross functionally to support the standardization of the management system.
Responsibilities:
  • Support changes and improvements to management system, including development of new procedures and work instructions
  • Support document control system, including publication and distribution of new documents as well as maintaining records
  • Support the preparation for external audits, as needed, 3rd party and customer
  • Support the preparation and execution of internal audits both product and process.
  • Support the maintenance of SPC software for monitoring, controlling, and reducing product and process variation
  • Support and coordinate issuing corrective action requests (CARs), including follow-up and closure
  • Work with other plants and corporate to improve the shared, system elements
  • Assist manufacturing shop-floor with corrective action resolution for internal key performance indicators, KPIs, and external customer issues, including warranty
  • Work with manufacturing shop-floor and other departments on problem-solving initiatives 8D analysis and link actions and outcomes to Control Plans, PFMEAs, plant inspection points, and customer returns
  • Support congruent management standards such as ISO9001, ISO14001, Customer Requirements, and Corporate Requirements
  • Support management review process including preparing and reporting on key process indicators (KPIs)
  • Train cross functional groups in Quality, Health and Safety Issues
  • Work on other assignments as determined by plant management
  • While performing duties of this job the individual is occasionally required to vary schedule times and shifts
Qualifications:
Skills:

  • PLANNING, ORGANIZING AND TIME MANAGEMENT: Planning, prioritizing and follow- up activities and ability to manage time effectively. Project management skills and good definition of top priorities. Result-oriented.
  • PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS: Ability to solve problems, manage action plans / corrective actions in a timely manner and communicate appropriately to prevent reoccurrence.
  • TEAMWORK: Ability to work with several teams and different interlocutors, be a team player, friendly, open-minded and have ability to build good relationships inside and outside the plant.
  • INFLUENCING AND MOTIVATIONAL SKILLS: Be a leader with or without direct authority. Have the capacity to influence, motivate and energize others at all levels.
  • DIPLOMACY & CONFLICT MANAGEMENT: Ability to drive difficult situations without arousing hostility. Good negotiation skills to achieve win-win results.
  • COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Proven skills in written and verbal communication. Proactively share information to keep peers informed. Availability to ask/listen. Good skills to train and coach several teams.
Experiences:
  • EDUCATION: Higher education / Degree in Technical or Engineering areas preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication - proficient in Microsoft Suite
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • INDUSTRIAL ENVIRONMENT: Experience in industrial environment, battery experience not needed but someone with experience in plant / operations. Some experience in the automotive industry is desirable.
  • PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Project management experience is desirable. Project owner with knowledge of APQP/PPAP, 8D, RCA.
  • QUALITY DEPARTMENT EXPERIENCE: Previous experience in Quality area: implementation of Quality Standards and/or managed a Quality System is desirable.
Travel, other requirements:
Plant environment. Some travel may be required <10%
