Quality Inspector - Full-Time

Summary:

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring quality materials and products are being received and used in production while ensuring processes and procedures are documented, maintained, and audited. This position will inspect and approve incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests along with rejecting material that is unacceptable. Maintains documentation and physical locations of both the rejected and compliant material along with records.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Perform dimensional and visual inspection of glass and other component parts using print specification and quality criteria.
  • Document, organize and summarize test results and prepare related reports. Review inspection results for compliance.
  • Generate non-conforming reports following the documented AROW Business Systems (ABS) policies and procedures.
  • Maintain working knowledge of all measuring tools used for routine and non-routine inspection.
  • Perform first article inspections (FAIs) of prototypes, new parts, engineering changes and first run products. Carry out dimensional assessment of product or parts to confirm that dimensions comply with blueprint specifications.
  • Conduct necessary quality inspection using proper equipment and techniques across all stages of production.
  • Carry out containment actions as needed, including inspection/validation/assessment on stock following customer complaints or internally reported rejections.
  • Follow safety procedures and ensure quality control standards are being met.
  • As part of the AROW Global team, you will need to understand the ABS policy and objectives and how you affect conformance to them.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office programs.
  • Understanding of measuring instruments and gages.
  • Experience in reading production drawings and Bill of Materials.
  • Understanding of root cause analysis and problem-solving methodology.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with math (standard and metric).
  • Knowledge of glazing materials, metal fabrication for window applications, and familiarity with the mass transportation industry is preferred.
