The successful candidate will provide leadership and technical expertise to identify, resolve, and eliminate quality issues and problems. Primary focus will be to work with assigned manufacturing departments on quality related issues.

The Role

Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking a Quality Engineer to work out of its brand new, state-of-the-art facility in Mesa, AZ.

The key responsibilities of this Quality Engineer include, but are not limited to:

  • Analyze and discuss quality concerns with assigned manufacturing departments. Identify, prioritize, and address all significant and repetitious quality problems.
  • Initiate and verify the effectiveness of formal Corrective Actions (as one of the main activities)
  • Maintain through knowledge of ISO-9001, AS-9100, Amphenol's Quality Manual, and subordinate procedures. Enforce quality policies.
  • Maintain working knowledge of products and associated processes.
  • Conduct Quality Audits (as one of the main activities)
  • Develop and maintain constructive professional relationships with employees and customers.
  • Take prudent actions to achieve Continuous Improvement in reducing Cost of Non-Quality and Customer Returns.
  • Investigate and disposition Customer Returns involving product from your area of responsibility.
  • Work extensively with Amphenol's computer system, both the AS400 main frame and the local PC network. Utilize Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Data3 software.
  • Occasionally travel to customers to resolve, or explain prevention of, cited quality issues.

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a Quality Engineer at Amphenol Aerospace Operations:

  • Engineering degree or equivalent education
  • Lead Auditor Training Certification preferred
  • Knowledge of statistical methods
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Proficiency with Data3 software preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
