Summary/Objective:

Tests and inspects products at various stages of the production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products to meet customer requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 1. Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.

2. Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process and tests products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical, electrical, or chemical characteristics.

3. Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.

4. Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.

5. Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.

6. Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.

7. Prepares graphs or charts of data or enters data into computer for analysis.

8. Layouts, initial sample inspection reports

9. ISIR capability studies

10. Review and update Bill of Materials for all parts.

11. Keep daily records of dimensional checks for specific customers during production runs.

12. Assembly and maintenance of all "bluebooks", which include operator instruction sheets, SPC charts, labels, BOM, material information sheets and mold repair logs.

13. Maintain last shot and sample of each part for future reference during production runs.

14. Organize and maintain material certifications.

15. Read and interpret blueprints.

16. Use the OGP to layout parts.

17. Operation of CMM.

18. Print computer generated labels using Prodigy I.

19. Calibration of gauges.

20. Use calipers, micrometers, height gages, plug gauges and other various gauges.

21. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and experience required for the role.

  • 1 - 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be punctual and dependable.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible, innovative in a fast paced and growth-oriented environment.

Supervisor Responsibilities:

This position has no direct reports.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily working in a manufacturing environment, which may not be temperature-controlled.
  • May stand for long periods of time.
  • Exposed to moving mechanical parts, with a moderate noise level.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk or hear. The team member is frequently required to walk and sit. The team member is occasionally required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch, and taste or smell. The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
