This position is based at our Hampton Farms location in Springfield, MA.
Quality Assurance Technician
Working under the Quality Manager, primary responsibilities include, quality verification checks on production floor, bulk material sampling, and maintaining hold and release program.
Required Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
- Attention to detail
- Exceptional communication skills
- Proven problem solving ability; sound judgement and decision making
Responsibilities:
Production Support:
- Perform food safety verification checks such as metal detection, temperature checks, and label verification
- Perform quality checks such as changeover inspections, finished product sensory, net weight checks, headspace checks
- Provide guidance to production team during foreign material observations, or when items need to go on hold
Sanitation Support:
- Perform allergen swabbing
- Perform ATP swabbing
- Perform environmental swabbing
Bulk Material Program:
- Enter received items into testing spreadsheet
- Sample bulk material
- Prepare shipments to laboratory
- Review COA results
- Release bulk items
Hold and Release program
- Tag all items on hold
- Maintain hold log
- Issue hold notifications
- Review COA results
- Release items
- Weekly hold reconciliation
- Support QA Manager during audits
