AHS Officers have a high school degree or equivalent and are eligible to be licensed as a Security Guard in NYS. The ideal candidate will have a clean NYS driver’s license, be in good physical condition, able to stand or walk throughout most of the shift, as well climbing steps and ladders and lifting heavy objects. Other characteristics of an Officer include, sound decision making, effectively maintain order if a disturbance occurs, ability to remain calm and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

A few duties include, you will learn more during the interview process:

  • Conducts regular and thorough patrols, while also responding to all calls for assistance, throughout the interior and exterior of Arnot Health locations, noting all present or potential safety, fire or security hazards/ conditions, and taking such appropriate actions to correct same.
  • Conducts Fire Watch and Interim Life Safety Measure (ILSM) Rounds as appropriate. Also conducts monthly fire extinguisher inspections and completes fire drills.
  • Collects and compiles all information necessary to complete a variety of reports in a timely, accurate and detailed manner. Conducts follow-up investigation on same as required.
  • Enforces parking policy and directs unauthorized persons away from premises.
  • Attends and completes routine safety training as related to the Officer role
