Business Need / Purpose of Role:

Support the execution of assigned international and domestic projects to ensure their success. On assigned projects, work with various departments to manage project scope, schedule, and margin. Represent the company in customer status meetings. Act as the voice of the customer to internal departments.


Objectives & Measurement

Key Responsibilities and Specific Accountabilities:


  • Track assigned projects from PO receipt to shipment
  • Represent TPU at customer’s technical reviews and project status meetings
  • Act as the voice of the customer in all internal communications
  • Create accurate and current monthly status reports/schedules on assigned projects. One copy for the customer, another copy in the job file
  • Hold periodic internal review meetings as required to maintain project scope, schedule, and margin
  • Understand and communicate risks of assigned projects to management. Especially if there are scope changes, schedule changes or margin erosion.
  • Coordinate factory visits by customers, witnesses, and inspectors
  • When necessary, work with the Contract Administrator to finalize contracts.
  • Observe all company safety requirements
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications


Education/Experience:

  • Minimum BA or BS degree in mechanical engineering, industrial technology, business management or related technical field.
  • Project Managment Certificaiton required.
  • 3-5 years of Project management experience
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, fluid dynamics, and principals of design of complex mechanisms
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Position requires excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Must be PC Proficient with knowledge of MS Office applications. MS Project preferred
  • Must be able to obtain passport for international travel
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to formulate well documented, fact-based reports

Language:

Read, write, and speak English effectively. Ability to write concise reports. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.

Mathematical Skills:

A working knowledge of basic algebra.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must display a positive, constructive, and customer-oriented attitude.

Computer Skills:

The incumbent should have knowledge of the following software: MS Office products and ERP systems.

Work Environment:

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. In certain areas of the facility personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required, including safety glasses and steel-toed shoes, and ear plugs.
