Savvee Consulting is seeking to hire a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Project Manager to support our federal client and staff in Washington, DC. Candidates must be able to provide onsite support to the team, have experience leading a team, and provide exceptional attention to detail and thoroughness on all deliverables.
This position is contingent upon award of contract.
Essential Functions

  • Reviewing and editing team’s submissions and working with individuals to ensure any errors are addressed in a professional manner for the betterment of the employee’s future performance
  • Participating in meetings with the agency’s leadership and providing updates on activities and assignments
  • Conducting detailed analyses of broad administrative programs and processes and making recommendations for the improvement of efficiency and effectiveness of daily operations
  • Acting as the main point of contact for the client to communicate operational, technical, and administrative issues
  • Providing leadership, direction, and support to contractor personnel to advance project goals as well as the individual’s professional goals
  • Training contractor staff on project-specific items to ensure each member has the knowledge they need to succeed on the project
  • Providing day-to-day oversight of the team to include, but not limited to; team scheduling & timekeeping, work distribution, and deliverable reviews and submissions
  • Planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the project to ensure deliverables, goals, and objectives are submitted on-time, error-free, and within the parameters of the contract’s budget
  • Addressing issues, both of the contract and personnel, promptly to ensure the over-all success of the contract and client satisfaction
  • Addressing, resolving, and mentoring staff concerns and escalating as required by Savvee’s policies
  • Providing staff with timely, constructive feedback on their performance and work with them to set goals for their professional growth and development
  • Assisting in annual reviews of staff
  • Supporting the client in person and/or via virtual/telephonic meetings and responding promptly to requests for discussions/resolutions of technical problems within 4 hours of initial notification
  • Attending client’s in-person meetings twice a month to provide over-all contract status to include deliverables, progress, issue resolutions, emerging areas of concern, and providing a general exchange of information
  • Understanding the organizational policies and procedures for accuracy of solutions and deliverables to the client
  • Demonstrating a commitment to quality and customer support

Required Education & Training

  • Bachelor’s degree

Minimum Experience & Skills

  • Two or more years of experience managing a team
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office’s suite of products
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • An acute attention to detail

Desired Experience/Certifications & Skills

  • Previous related FOIA experience
  • Previous DHS experience
  • Six or more years of experience managing a team
  • A certification I program/project management (i.e. PMP)
