Inceptor Bio is seeking an exceptional Project Manager to be an integrator and driver of cross-functional activities to advance our pipeline and successfully deliver our first IND for a CAR-T cell therapy. The Project Manager will have excellent written and oral communication skills. They will be instrumental in collaborating with stakeholders to define the project scope, timeline dependencies and deliver on project milestones. They will exhibit a solid understanding of early phase drug development and proactively review program risks with the team and implement necessary mitigation plans. They will implement PMO practices and maintain key resources for transparent and timely communication with Functional Teams and Senior Leadership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • The R&D Project Manager will be accountable to lead a cross-functional matrix team of experts to advance Inceptor Bio’s pipeline and first product candidate to IND submission.

  • They will create and drive integrated project plans; specifically, they will determine the scope of deliverables, note timeline dependencies, perform critical path/ gap analyses, track risk registers and perform scenario planning accounting for resource/ budget impact.

  • They will manage projects in collaboration with various Inceptor Bio teams, as well as projects with industry or academic partners, or with CROs to complete IND-enabling activities.

  • They will manage Project Team meetings, issue written agendas in advance of the meeting and follow-up with minutes, an action item tracker and hold team members accountable to deliverables between meetings.

  • They will work with Functional Leads to resolve complex problems and manage difficult stakeholder situations.

  • They will communicate effectively with the appropriate team members to advance projects and provide high-level reports to proactively update executive leadership.

Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job successfully.

  • Advanced degree in Life Sciences or Management or other relevant discipline preferred.

  • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in biotech/pharmaceutical industry, preferably in the early development stage.

  • Demonstrated competency in understanding drug development and IND submissions (Preclinical or CMC), preferably in cell or gene therapy.

  • Experienced in leading matrix cross-functional teams and in working at the strategic level with Executive Leadership.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with Functional area leaders to develop Project plans or Product Development Plans for IND submissions, to proactively identify and assess risks and their impacts, along with implementation of mitigation plans.

  • Excellent project management skills, understanding of effective management principles and experience with commonly used project management tools.

Travel Requirements

  • Up to 20% Travel to Headquarters (Research Triangle Park, North Carolina) may be required if the employee is remote.

  • Position may be remote or office-based at Inceptor Bio’s HQ in RTP, North Carolina.
