Position Summary

We would like to hire a Project Engineer that will be responsible for the following:

  • Designs and develops electromechanical component and assemblies using 2D CAD and 3D solid modeling software
  • Participates in quote activities and prepares engineering quotations
  • Prepares detailed tolerance analysis
  • Conducts and/or oversee product development projects from inception to production
  • Conducts product failure analysis and defines appropriate corrective action
  • Participates in material review board (MRB) activities by evaluating and dis-positioning non-conforming product
  • Provides guidance to junior engineers and Designers ; reviews and approves work for drafters
  • Participates in brainstorm sessions to help offer new ideas, solutions for other engineers
  • Supports production department in resolving problems with existing manufacturing processes
  • Works with suppliers to clarify engineering drawing issues
  • Works with customers to resolve issues related to product designs or when supporting the quote process
  • Researches historical part drawings for determination of export control classification
  • Prepares engineering change request or release orders
  • Performs electrostatic analysis of electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Provides sustaining engineering support for legacy product lines
  • Works with manufacturing department when developing new tolling or new processes
  • Coordinates internal/external design reviews with customers
  • Works with manufacturing and material process engineering to develop new manufacturing processes and procedures

Qualifications

  • BSME or BSEE with good mechanical skills
  • Minimum 2 years directly related experience
  • Good analytical skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Be able to use MS Word; MS Excel; AutoCad; SolidWorks.
  • Experience with electrical and mechanical testing.
  • This position will regularly work in excess of 40 hours weekly. Ability to work weekends and evenings when needed for workload is also required.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
