IBC Construction LLC, a growing and locally owned residential & commercial General Contractor with a fun, professional and progressive culture is seeking an individual with a positive attitude to join our team as a Project Assistant. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 5 pm, excluding major holidays. Compensation starting at $16 to $19 per hour, DOE, and the position is located in Hood River. Our jobsites are primarily located in the Hood River & White Salmon area.

This position is an entry level position, and would be particularly attractive to anyone who may have interest in construction, or related trades. We are willing to train the ideal cantidate.

PROJECT ASSISTANT

Reports to: Sr. Project Manager & Superintendent

Schedule: Monday - Friday

Hours: 36+, full time

Responsibilities:

• Maintaining a clean and safe jobsite, E.G. removing construction debris from interior and exterior using hands, broom & vacuum, utilizing magnet to retrieve any nails, screws or metal debris, etc.
• Transport construction debris and other jobsite trash to local transfer stations using trucks and trailers equipped with hydraulic lift.
• Deliver and removal of tools, construction equipment, building materials, appliances and fixtures using truck and trailer or box truck.
• Assist in storing, moving and managing all materials on job sites to/from company storage areas.
• Assist in ensuring safe and efficient jobsite access through cleanliness and organization.
• Placing and maintaining proper signage and traffic safety markers.
• Ensuring cleanliness, organization and maintenance of assigned company vehicle(s).
• Assisting an maintenance and inventory of shared equipment and tools (trailers, pressure washers, vacuums, leaf blowers, string trimmers, power cables, ladders, hoses, sump-pumps, heaters, fans, dehumidifiers, hand tools, power tools, traffic cones, etc).
• Responsibilities for assisting in the management and storage of extra building supplies (lumber, drywall, siding, nails, tile, flooring, windows, doors, cabinets, fixtures, etc).

Other commonly performed tasks:

• Prefinishing wood (soffit material) and metal prior to installation.
• Pressure washing sidewalks, porches, driveways & garages.
• Sealing concrete.
• Stripping concrete forms.
• Brush removal/weed wacking.
• Light demolition.

Expectations:

• Have a good attitude.
• Arrive on time and ready for work.
• Dress appropriately: closed toe shoes, no loose jewelry, and weather appropriate.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Ability to work independently as well as with others.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
• Willing to work in all weather conditions, with appropriate gear provided.
• Safe use of hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.
• Be a proactive problem solver.
• Ability to utilize the company time clock app via smartphone.
• Possess valid drivers license and reliable transportation to and from work.
