Programmer Analyst - Stony Brook CPMP Information Technology

Location: St. James, NY

Schedule: Full-time

Days/Hours: Monday through Friday - 8:30am to 5:00pm
Responsibilities

SUMMARY: The Programmer Analyst, reporting to the Director of Revenue Cycle Applications in IT, is assigned to Provider Revenue Cycle Operations. This position is key in supporting the software product which drives provider billing and all necessary coding for numerous physician practice billing operations. As the Programmer Analyst, the incumbent will possess a solid understanding of provider billing from an Information Technology perspective, integrating clinical and financial data.

Job Duties & Essential Functions:

  • Monitor system health, gather system statistic information and investigate reported errors
  • Manage the operation and custom configurations within PatientKeeper
  • Creates and manages processes and protocols for software
  • Meet and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to establish system goals and requirements to meet Organizational needs.
  • Translate highly technical specifications into clear non-technical language to meet system requirement and the requirements of other integrated applications
  • Define and coordinate the execution of testing protocols, and develop test procedures to serve the overall quality assurance process
  • Perform implementation, and upgrades of PatientKeeper system to meet the business and user needs
  • Implement best practices for scalability, supportability, ease of maintenance, and system performance

Qualifications

Required Education and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • 3 years of experience with Large Physician Multi Practice Billing and Coding IT Applications
  • Strong verbal, written and communication skills
  • Strong computer, hardware, software, and analytical skills
  • Superior Internal Customer Service skills including the ability to engage with people at all levels of the organization
  • Supervisory Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with network protocols, computer hardware and software
  • Knowledge of data backup, recovery, security and integrity
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of user support principles and practices associated with system Administration and Physician Practice Billing
  • Problem solving expertise.
  • Familiarity with Project management principles
  • Proven ability to assess business needs and translate them into relevant solutions
  • Training skills

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with patients, staff and medical providers. The employee must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Any additional physical demands will be outlined and provided by management.

This position is active and requires the employee to constantly move about in the office to assist patients, staff and medical providers.
