What we need
MAHAR is seeking a Program Manager to provide technical tooling expertise, purchasing experience and management skills to support a vendor managed inventory program in Water Valley, MS. The Program Manager ensures that MAHAR is achieving its scope of work as agreed upon for the respective plant.

Essential Functions of the Position

  • Supports all aspects of plant production within MAHAR’s scope of work, attending meetings as invited and required
  • Leads in an effective and productive way; builds morale; promotes safety- assists in safety training of team members
  • Writes and follows Standard Work Instructions
  • Assigns and evaluates all team member work duties
  • Responds to all plant issues from production including business unit leaders, maintenance personnel and machine operators
  • Mentors, coaches, and trains as needed
  • Leads and responds to any team member emergency, including, but not limited to, tool set up, tool delivery, breakdown of tooling and interaction with department business unit leaders
  • Evaluates and improves processes by examining daily processes and duties, reporting suggestions to program manager, and assisting in implementing changes.
  • Assists management in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Obtains quotes from tooling shops for blueprint tooling and determines which quote will satisfy customer’s needs
  • Research requests for MRO supplies including but not limited to electrical, mechanical, power transmission, fluid control and tooling components
  • Sets up items in the ERP system and generates and provides quotes to requestor and appropriate manager for approval. Once approval is received generates and issues a purchase order to the supplier
  • Manages inventory and ERP systems

Minimum Qualifications/Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 or more years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing plant or contract service industry
  • Previous experience using a purchasing ERP system
  • Knowledge of maintenance, tooling and machining principles and components

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in management or related field
  • 1 or more years of technical experience in manufacturing
  • 5 or more years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing plant or contract service industry
  • Blueprint reading skills
