The Program Coordinator will support and advance United Way’s mission by supporting the implementation of volunteer program activities. This position helps to improve lives by ensuring that volunteer time and talent is aligned with producing positive results and measurable outcomes in the areas of Health, Education, and Financial Stability.

Generalized tasks of this position include:

  • Fostering community partnerships and networking with local stakeholders
  • Promoting and Marketing the organization and its programs: in person, on the radio, in the newspaper, on television, by phone, and virtually through video communications
  • Co-managing social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat)
  • Recruiting, orienting, and tracking of volunteers and their hours
  • Creating and Scheduling volunteers and service opportunities
  • Coordinating Day of Service projects multiple times throughout the year
  • Coordinating Program tasks and projects
  • Event Planning & Facilitation - including the ability to lift up to 20 lbs. regularly, and up to 50 lbs. with assistance, occasionally.
  • Co-managing volunteers, interns, and others, as needed
  • Coordinating and facilitating committee meetings
  • Preparing reports on project performance using insights and impact data
  • Maintaining manuals
  • Filing
  • Answering phones
  • Scheduling

Things to Know

  • Must pass State and Federal Criminal History Background checks
  • This position will require the occasional weekend/evening for special events (approximately 6 per year on average)
