Overview:
The Senior Defense Program Planning assistant supports the agency’s Senior Executive Leadership in the planning, analysis, and development of reports regarding the organization’s current and future planning, budget, and execution. The Senior Defense Program Planning Assistant will collect and collate data provided by managers throughout the agency and draft information products to include spreadsheets, briefing slides, and reports for consideration by agency leaders.

Responsibilities:
  • Department of Defense (DoD) planning, budget, and execution to include developing and maintaining program controls involving cost, schedule, and performance.
  • Developing and sustaining program control tools that are readily identifiable, easily managed with consistent formats and repeatable processes.
  • Solid interpersonal communication skills in a highly visible, pivotal role supporting the agency’s management and operational stakeholders in the development and management of program control tools and informational products.
  • Building and presenting programmatic documentation for presentation to internal and external stakeholders for management actions such as:
    • Demonstrating the Agency’s Roles and Mission;
    • Quarterly Performance Reviews (QPR) using the Intelligence Community Format;
    • Unfunded Requirements Process (UFR);
    • Operational Accomplishments and Set-backs;
    • Fiscal Year and Out-year Financial Plans, Projections, and Justifications.
  • Masterfully create and facilitate Senior level PowerPoint briefing presented to various government agencies.
  • Assist the Chief of Staff and Senior Executive Staff Assistant with the day-to-day operations of the organization’s Headquarters’ Division.
Qualifications:
  • Education / Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
    • Bachelor degree in a business, management, and/or communications related field or equivalent experience. (Preferred)
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification. (Preferred)
    • High School Diploma
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of five years' of DoD and/or Intelligence Community (IC) experience in DoD agency program, budget planning, analysis, and execution.
  • Skills & Technology Used:
    • Must possess basic information technology skills. Be able to perform basic functions of a PC.
    • Master of time management skills.
    • Must display interpersonal skills.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
    • Excellent communications and writing skills, meticulous attention to detail, ability to meet time sensitive deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks.
