· Production Tasks

· Have an intimate knowledge of the line and able to troubleshoot problem areas. Assess minor repairs required and assist maintenance in those repairs.

· Have good communication skills, both written and verbal.

· Have a good working knowledge of the entire production line in order to observe, coach, and train as needed.

· Ensure that procedures and work instructions are followed in the production area.

· Take the place of the Winder Operator, Coater Operator, Packager and at times the Unwind Operator while these individuals are on breaks or lunches according to the Plant’s policies.

· Fill in for teammates when they are sick or on vacation.

· Assists in various duties not assigned to specific operators such as removal of filled granule pallets, tagging finished goods pallets missed by the Packager, change out dust collector boxes, and cleaning projects.

· After paperwork is changed over for the day weigh the scrap and inform the Winder of its weight so it can be recorded.

· Capable of training new hires and cross training on production positions.

· Collect finished paperwork and deliver it to the shift Team Leader.

· Assist in relacing the line.

· Should be able to work on special projects and assignments and follow up on completion and give Team Leader a detailed report on completion.

· General housekeeping duties

· Practice good housekeeping skills.

· Disposal of scrap

· Emptying hoppers from the production area.

· Assisting in any large scale cleanup projects (such as those due to reclaim system malfunctions).

· Provide assistance to other operators.

· Quality Tasks

· Monitor our finished products to be first quality.

· Be able to understand finished product specifications and ensure the products are first quality and to specifications.

· Responsible for identifying quality problems and take actions to prevent nonconformance of products. Have the initiative to solve problems and take action to prevent recurrence of the problem.

· Be able to maintain Plants performance standards such as seconds, scrap, waste, line speed, and machine utilization.

· Perform elementary maintenance work on the plant equipment to keep it operating

· Should be able to follow detailed instructions from a maintenance associate or Team Leader to correct problems.

· Perform basic mechanical procedures

· Knowledge and use of various hand and power tools.

· Assist maintenance in changing out bearings.

· Assist maintenance in changing out sprockets, sheaves, chains, and belts.

· Minor mechanical adjustments.

· Perform basis hydraulic and pneumatic procedures

· Replace broken lines.

· Assist maintenance in replacing cylinders.

· Assist maintenance in replacing solenoid valves.

· Adjust speed controls.
