3M is seeking candidates for our 2nd Shift Production Operator role in Detroit, MI!
- Pay Starting at $29.67
- Shift Details: 2nd Shift [2a-6a (M) 6p-6:30a (M-W)]
As a Production Operator, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas
- Perform routine 5S, housekeeping, and preventive maintenance activities.
- Operating heavy machinery and PIV’s including forklifts, hand trucks, and hoists
- Assure compliance to plant safety, labeling, and Hazardous waste stream profiles
- Accurately record data required for control of process, materials, and quality assurance.
- Material handling as relates to the staging, input, and removal of raw materials, finished goods, and waste materials
- Support of production operations including mineral, solution delivery systems, assisting with oven operation and in process web handling
- Perform or assist with in process testing and will be required to monitor and maintain processes on target during break relief
Required Qualifications:
- Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
Desired Qualifications:
- One (1) year of general labor, manufacturing, and/or construction experience
- Prior experience using basic and specialized computer applications
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Moderate physical exertion required to stage input materials, load mineral, fillers, remove web from oven and cleanup after product changeovers and line shutdowns
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds, using proper lifting techniques
- Conditions include exposure to heat, fumes, dust, chemicals, noise, and bump hazards, which necessitates the wearing of specialized PPE
