We are currently hiring a Product Specialist to work in our Milwaukee, WI location. This position is best suited for an organized, responsible, and detail-oriented individual who is looking for a career within a well-established company.

WHAT DOES THIS POSITION DO?

The primary responsibility of the Product Specialist is to be the support mechanism for the products we sell and collaborate with the Sales and Marketing teams to drive the sales of those products. This is a strong product leadership role that requires vision and awareness to become a key resource for market trends, industry products and innovations.

• Application Support: Provide pre-sale product application and specification guidance to internal and external customers. Support the hydronics activities of the engineering, customer service, commercial, and technical support departments. Be available and willing to provide field support when necessary. Troubleshoot performance issues with hydronic systems and components. Provide product application and specification guidance to internal and external customers. Provide system start-up assistance.
• Promotion: Promote assigned hydronics products and showcase the value and application of our offering. This includes attending sales meetings and home shows, developing dealer, city sales and branch displays, and assisting with literature distribution to our customers and branches.
• Sales and Marketing: Analyze competitive products and competitive pricing. Responsible for working with the Marketing and Sales teams to create promotions for the assigned products. Communicate and work with the Marketing team to create incentives and specials. Attend monthly sales meetings to review issues, concerns, applications and successful sales tactics with the Auer Steel sales personnel. Upon request, travel with our Territory Managers to assist in contractor recruitment, showcase our offering and demonstrate the capabilities of our products and services.
• Purchasing Coordination: Confer with the buyers regarding stock levels, vendor preseason programs, inventory management (including the sale of surplus and slow-moving stock), and product updates to keep Auer Steel employees informed of changes or new developments. Review our product line and identify ways to make lines more profitable for our customers and Auer Steel. Aid purchasers in identifying direct replacement items or item alternatives to list in our inventory/order system to guard against outages. Aid purchasing in listing superseded items within our inventory/order system.
• Training: Work with the training department to conduct employee and customer training. Coordinate with the manufacturers we represent to provide consistent training annually, based on customer feedback and Auer Steel's field experience. Assist in coordinating Vendor joint sales calls with the Auer Steel Sales team.
• Factory interface: Work with the buyer in relations with our vendors, including analysis of new product offerings, pricing negotiations, technical information exchange and review of vendor marketing programs. Assist in mitigating any special warranty issues.

WHAT IS REQUIRED?

• Associates Degree in HVAC or related field, preferred
• High degree of professionalism and excellent interpersonal/communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional departments
• Excellent organizational skills required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Experience with Epicor Prophet 21 is a plus
• Minimum of 2 years' experience with hydronics systems and product preferred
