Product Marketing Specialist

Working within the Electrification (EL) Business Area IS (Information Systems) Front End Application, you will be responsible for implementing product marketing strategies in line with global product strategy. As Product Marketing Specialist, you will utilize your skills and capabilities to design, develop and implement the product marketing, positioning and go to market strategy for our low voltage molded case circuit breakers product lines. You will be accountable for the ownership of the respective product portfolio for all marketing and business development activities in the United States. You will also lead the communication and messaging of our product value propositions in alignment with ABB’s global product marketing strategy, and as well help coordinate other functional areas of the business as necessary to achieve the expected KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) for the product lines in scope.

Your responsibilities

  • Create, plan and ensure the effective implementation of the US go to market product marketing strategy including definition and communication of product value propositions and product positioning
  • Ensure achievement of product marketing targets and budgets through regular oversight, definition and implementation of growth/improvement plans
  • Develop and implement annual marketing plans in conjunction with US customer experience, communication teams and Business Units/Product
  • Groups; Prepare business plans focused on business development for the low voltage distribution and protection market
  • Oversees sales execution for assigned products by coordinating the preparation of relevant materials and guidance to Sales teams
  • Drives sales efficiency by ensuring appropriate product and application knowledge (technical and commercial) for each Sales team. Ensures know how sharing and cross collaboration
  • Coordinate with cross functional and cross division product marketing, sales team members and operations team to define appropriate forecasts and inventory positioning
  • Collect, evaluate and share customer research, market conditions and competitive data with a focus on Industrial users, contractors and distributors
  • Collaborate with division Global Product Managers on local standards and installation norms to ensure local product market acceptance and drive new product/feature development based on local market needs and trends
  • Lead and manage commercialization efforts of multiple programs, including voice of customer (VOC), product launches and segment marketing
  • Product portfolio management such as pricing strategy, inventory strategy, KPI reporting, local market offering, product gap analysis/business cases, sales and promotion tools, internal and external trainings, strong technical presence

Your background

  • Engineering Bachelor's degree is required. Electrical Engineering preferred and minimum 2 years of experience in Sales, Product Management or Product Marketing Management in a related Electrical products/application industry
  • Able to comfortably work with cross functional teams and operating at a very fast pace, with multiple competing priorities
  • Product Management and Product Marketing skills
  • Customer service skills
  • Strong analysis and problem solving skills required
  • Must have excellent communication/presentation skills, both written and verbal
  • Understanding of power distribution, electrical control systems and applications associated with their product lines
  • Your competencies profile should include focus on customers and stakeholders, results-oriented, market driven thinking, teamwork, systemic thinking, and creativity & innovation
  • Strong experience with MS Office required
  • Experience with Industry 4.0, IoT, Digital connectivity and Industrial communication protocols, preferred
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
