As a Product Management Analyst at American National you will be primarily focused on improving our understanding of the annuity and life insurance competitive marketplace. You will serve as an expert on the current state of the market by understanding and effectively communicating the pricing, benefits, and features of competitor life and annuity products. The product analyst will be the key point of contact for market intelligence and analysis to determine future target markets and growth opportunities for the organization.



What Will You Do?
  • Maintains standardized monthly reports for lines of business to measure and monitor sales and competitiveness of product development initiatives
  • Researches and analyzes competitors’ products, including the creation of side-by-side comparisons of benefits, features, and pricing
  • Utilizes industry reporting tools to review and summarize a competitor’s market share and performance a line of business
  • Acts as the subject matter expert for competitor information including coverage differentiation, rating structures, policy language, and competitor strategy
  • Analyzes lines of business results to identify trends and issues and work with product management team to address
  • Makes recommendations for development of product enhancements based on competitor and field review
  • Works with marketing to identify areas of focus and opportunity
  • Works closely with the Business Intelligence team, develops standardized monthly reports for a specified region and/or line of business to measure and monitors performance of the growth and profitability and product development initiatives
  • Develops and executes plans for competitor and market research and analysis
  • Performs field research, including customer distribution, competitor, insurance department, and statistical analysis.
  • Promotes data-driven decision-making by analyzing data and communicating findings clearly and objectively to a variety of internal business partners
  • Trains and mentors Product Management Analysts (PMA), sets and enforces PMA service standards, provides quality oversight and assists PMAs with project prioritization


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, or equivalent work experience with five years of experience in life insurance and annuities
  • Proficient knowledge of Excel and Power BI
  • Ability to manipulate and analyze large quantities of data
  • Ability to communicate competitor information in a concise matter to different stakeholders (Marketing, Sales, Underwriting, pricing, systems analyst, management)

Salary for this position can range from $62,000 for candidates who are minimally qualified through $77,395 for more highly qualified candidates. Candidates outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill and education.
