Essential Functions

• Design and develop product specifications to meet customer expectations as defined in project contracts.
• Design and specify fit, form, and function of components of a product.
• Interact and collaborate with other functional departments (materials, manufacturing, and assembly) to assure board success of product design.
• Develop new product requirements through consulting with customers and sales team.
• Research, analyze, design, and test component parts, processes, or systems to develop new or improve core products.
• Demonstrate and apply Design for Manufacturing and Assembly principles.
• Investigate product development factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, cost effective design, and change proposals.
• Support day-to-day business activities related to product quality and product efficiency.
• Utilizes and creates documents in the Conax Technologies Wiki.
• Exemplify core values of integrity, commitment, innovative thinking, customer service, and teamwork.

Job Requirements
Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Mechanical Engineering
• 0-2 years of mechanical product design and engineering experience
• Background in design analysis tools, including basic knowledge in stress analysis tools (commercial FEA software) and strong understanding in strength of materials and material selection.
• Expertise in 2D and 3D commercial CAD package
• Working knowledge of applying Design/Process failure mode and effect analysis (D/PFMEA) to recognize and evaluate potential systems, products or process failures
