Full Job Description
We are looking for a Powder Coat Technician to powder products using an electrostatic spray gun while also loading and unloading of powder coat oven line. This person will maintain equipment and adjust as needed to ensure a quality product. They will work as part of a team helping perform the necessary operations to move products through the shop to completion. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 7 am to 3:30 pm. Experience required.
Responsibilities:
- Understand all powder coating equipment including powder oven
- Can troubleshoot, perform routine maintenance, clean equipment, and booth
- Mask off various pieces of the product as needed
- Performs skilled powder coating utilizing common standards and practices.
- Able to consistently and efficiently deliver quality final products according to order requirements.
- Prep parts for powder coating by pre-racking, plugging, sanding, and masking. This is the most important part of the job.
- Ability to work independently with little direction
- Ability to follow procedures/processes
- Load and unload the oven
- Load and unload powder coat racks as needed
- Organize paperwork and ensure proper Identification of product
- Work safely, injury free
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills:
- Experience in Powder Coating or liquid paint is preferred but not necessary.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to quickly gain knowledge, understanding, or skills and willingness to learn.
Qualifications:
- Ability to read and accurately execute work orders with minimal direction
- Attention to detail and quality
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Self-motivated, collaborative team player
- Adherence to all Company, warehouse, and welding safety standards and policies
- Must be able to work at least 40 hours per week
- Must be able to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to bend, squat, twist, and kneel
- Must be able to use hand and power tools
- Must be able to use personal protective equipment required in the safe execution of powder coating, including a respirator and/or hood
- Must be able to safely work in a confined space for extended periods
- Chemical and airborne fumes and particulate safety training
