We’re looking for a full-time, staff Piping Designer to join our Day & Zimmermann team located in Greenville, SC | Hybrid: in the office three days a week | Possible Remote

As the Piping Designer, here’s the work you’ll do:

• With minimal instruction and with written procedures and guidelines, prepares design and detail layout utilizing CAD systems including 3D design tools.
• Monitor design and drafting work of CAD personnel and coordinate with other disciplines, as necessary.
• Interpret and apply applicable codes, standards, procedures, guidelines, and specifications. As well as prepare calculations to support design.

This role is for you if you have these skills:

• Understanding of piping and engineering terminology and industry practices, Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, procedures, guidelines, and specifications
• A firm understanding of design and associated design documents
• Ability to efficiently provide most design, layout, and checking of deliverables
• Sound knowledge of estimating/budgeting, planning and scheduling a plus.
• Excel basics
• Ability to function as a discipline lead for specific projects a plus

And if you have these qualifications:

• High School, GED or Technical Associates Degree
• 20 + years relevant experience
• CAD and 3D design proficient - AutoCAD MicroStation and Plant 3D Preferred
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite of applications, and the ability to quickly learn and use other software packages; Effective verbal and written communication skills; Self-motivated and engaged in growing our client relationships
• Great attitude and team player
• Successful completion of background screening process
• Ability to obtain a Security Clearance
