SUMMARY

The Physician Relations Representative/Liaison serves as a liaison between Connecticut Children's Medical Center and community referring providers specific to the Western MA region and CT (Windham, Tolland, New London counties). The Representative facilitates referring provider relationships to build and maintain awareness, preference and loyalty to Connecticut Children's. The Representative develops and executes strategic referral development/growth plans through sales/frequency planning in that territory to partner with referring practices. The Representative develops and executes tactical plans to meet the strategic growth goals of the organization to achieve assigned objectives.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops and cultivates relationships with community referring providers/practices in order to build and maintain strong relationships between referring physicians and Connecticut Children's.
  • Serves as a liaison to referring providers by executing on well-developed sales and messaging plans.
  • Develops and executes a strong sales approach with measurable visit goals and outcomes.
  • Executes tactical growth/referral development plans as assigned.
  • Coordinates Continuing Medical Education (CME), conferences, events and other educational programs.
  • Develops advanced knowledge of Connecticut Children's and its services to serve as a community resource.
  • Utilize sales skills to provide benefits based on community provider needs.
  • Communicates key referring physician messages per hospital priorities or initiatives.
  • Partner with internal service lines, Network of Care locations and key faculty to promote new and existing programs, services and providers to the referring community.
  • Assists in the development of growth strategies for business retention and new referral sources.
  • Assists in issue resolution with referring partners to cultivate partner relationships and to provide a feedback loop to the organization for potential operational improvements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in communications, marketing, journalism, business or healthcare administration from an accredited college or university required.
  • Requires a minimum of 1-3 years of physician relations, business development, sales or marketing experience, preferably in a multi-site healthcare organization

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient at Excel
  • Must have excellent presentations and interpersonal communication skills

  • Work with others effectively.
  • Must be able to travel to multiple locations in Connecticut, Western Mass and surrounding areas.
  • Must be able to work 40 hours per week, or more, as needed.
