Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician II performs functions related to pharmaceutical preparation and distribution. These tasks may include but are not limited to non-sterile compounding, stocking automated dispensing cabinets, unit dose drug preparation, delivering medications to patient care areas, checking medication storage areas for outdates, billing, and other duties as assigned.

Additionally, the Pharmacy Technician II may work in one or more specialty areas of pharmacy. Examples: IV room, controlled substance distribution and monitoring, automation, informatics, medication reconciliation.

What qualifications you will need:


  • Licensure/Certification:
    Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT or national equivalent) with Colorado Board of Pharmacy (DORA) issued Pharmacy Technician Certificate, or Colorado Board of Pharmacy (DORA) issued Provisional Pharmacy Technician Certificate
  • If initially hired with a Colorado Board of Pharmacy (DORA) issued Provisional Pharmacy Technician Certificate, must achieve Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT or national equivalent) within 12 months of hire.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: previous pharmacy technician experience preferred
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: As defined in competencies; ability to work accurately with attention to detail. Possesses communication, teamwork, customer service, computer, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Degree of Supervision Required: Minimal. Individual proceeds on his/her own initiative, in compliance with applicable policies, law, regulations, practices and procedures prescribed by his/her immediate supervisor.

This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
