How This Role impacts Live Oak and its People
People Business Partners (PBPs) are responsible for aligning business objectives with people solutions in the organizations they support. Successful PBPs act as business professionals, team member champions, and change agents. PBPs engage closely with leaders across Live Oak to develop and drive comprehensive people strategy in support of business objectives, organizational effectiveness, change management, talent development and employee productivity and engagement.
What You’ll Do at Live Oak
  • Provide support and feedback to partner groups, and consult with managers at all levels in areas of talent strategy, including management training and coaching, team member engagement programs, organizational development, and employee relations. Typically supports 1 or more Operating Committee (OC) member(s); and may support a more senior executive based on organizational structure.
  • Quickly identify business needs; develop and present solutions to aligned leaders to help drive results in the organization.
  • Manage employee relations issues. Participate or inform plan for effective, thorough, and objective investigations within their aligned departments. Analyzes and surfaces related trends within their client group.
How You’ll Do It
  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the People Operations and Learning and Development group to identify solutions, programs, and opportunities for learning.
  • Help aligned partner group maintain a high bar for performance by reviewing trends in management of underperformance.
  • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Escalates cases as needed to more senior level PBPs; partners with the Legal department as needed/required.
  • Works closely with management and team members to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Partners with colleagues to ensure a vibrant and effective workplace.
  • Provides guidance and input on business unit restructuring, workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Executes company-wide Talent Programs within their client group, including (3) Seasonal Performance Cycles and Annual Compensation Reviews.
Required and Preferred Experience
  • Relevant, progressive experience in employee relations, people operations, compensation/benefits, and/or organizational development. At least 2 years in a business partner role required.
  • Demonstrate discretion and sound judgment while working with sensitive and confidential materials.
  • Comfortable using technology and experience using Workday required.
  • Effective verbal and written communications.
  • Passion for results; able to deliver full-cycle projects (start to finish) and results in a timely manner.
  • A team player who acts with a sense of urgency and adapts to a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
  • Ability to solve moderate to complex problems; resourceful and takes initiative to seek internal and external resources when problem-solving.
  • Very strong EQ, with fine-tuned instincts and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • If remote, must be able to work east coast hours (8-5 pm EST)
