JOB DESCRIPTION:

A Certified Personal Care Aide provides personal care, nutritional and housekeeping assistance to clients in their homes under the supervision of a registered nurse. These tasks are essential to the client's wellbeing and to meet their everyday needs and may be prescribed by a physician. The Personal Care Aide is an important member of the client care team, helping the client regain self-confidence and usefulness and providing emotional as well as physical support.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assisting with personal care functions such as bathing, toileting, dressing, eating, walking and transferring activities
• Shopping and preparing food according to specified diet. Feeding and other duties, as assigned by plan of care
• Taking temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure
• Housekeeping - changing bed linens, dusting, vacuuming, washing dishes and laundry
• Documenting care and reporting significant observations

REQUIREMENTS:

• Certified Personal Care Aide in NYS. Must have original certificate of training programs covered by the Core Curriculum and Health Related Tasks, as required by NYSDOH
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Experience in a home-health setting preferred
• Covid-19 vaccination
