We are seeking a PCA/ LNA who will also function as the clinical scheduler for Heaton Woods Residence in Montpelier. As a PCA on the floor their responsibilities would include assisting residents in their morning and evening routines, bathing, grooming, toileting, transports.

In their role as a clinical scheduler, this person would be able to accomplish the following:

  • Maintain and implement the scheduling for clinical staff based on shift and coverage for each position.
  • Reports clinical vacancies to business manager and works closely with Business Manager to fill any existing clinical vacancies.
  • Communicates to Clinical Team Lead, ED, Administrators and Business Manager any critical staffing shortages that have the potential to create an unsafe environment for residents.
  • Provides staffing to cover for any leave of absence.
  • Communicates with Charge Nurse, as needed regarding day-to-day changes.
  • Keeps Clinical Team Lead aware of any employee that has repeated attendance issues or callouts.
  • On a regular basis, sends report of call outs, short pay, ATO and bonus to the Business Manager for review.
  • Uses guidelines provided by Central Office and Administrator to offer a bonus if there is a threat of critical staffing shortages.
  • Administrators will continually monitor clinical schedules and make suggestions on how to fill critical openings.
  • Communicate with staff using multiple channels, i.e. in-person, phone, texting and/or emails

The skills and qualifications for this person would be as follows:

  • Must have excellent communication skills, especially verbal/oral communication
  • Must be able to work as part of a team, i.e., must be an excellent team player
  • Act as PCA/LNA as needed
  • Possession of good organizational and leadership abilities is a prerequisite
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • He/she must prove to be extremely reliable
  • Must have excellent time management abilities.
  • Computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft products and when to work program.
  • Ability to analyze company procedures to make improvements
  • 1-2 years of prior scheduling experience preferred.
  • Associates Degree in business or a related field desired but not required.
  • Ability to travel to both locations periodically to have face-to-face interactions with managers and employees.
