Summary Statement

The Payroll Manager will oversee and supervise the organizations payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. They will correspond with various human resource coordinators during the performance of the job. The Payroll Manager will also provide labor management reporting in a timely and accurate fashion.


Essential Functions
  • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records, labor allocations and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Paycor HRIS Administrator
  • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
  • Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
  • Correspond with human resource coordinators and employees and respond to inquiries.
  • Prepare and distribute labor management reports for each payroll cycle and assist in identifying labor variances.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Must have strong knowledge of payroll function, process payroll and benefit accruals, payroll taxes, internal controls and general accounting procedures
  • Knowledge of Paycor or other payroll/human resource payroll system
  • Strong computer keyboard capability
  • Intermediate skills in Excel. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook
  • Competent with standard office equipment including copiers, printers and calculators
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to meet deadlines


Education and/or Experience:



Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources from an accredited university or college. Three to five years of Payroll Management experience will be considered in lieu of degree.

Communication Skills:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as directions, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine correspondence.
  • Timely response to email and phone messages.
