ROLE PURPOSE:

Responsible for all payroll-related processing activities.


MAJOR ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Payroll

  • Manages the full payroll life cycle to submit accurate and timely payrolls via third party payroll vendor
  • Collects, verifies, stores and reports on organizational payroll data as well as monitors the accuracy of the data and files
  • Ensures mandatory & voluntary withholdings and deductions are accurately calculated and reported
  • Inputs changes, which may include changes to employees or employee statuses, exemptions or withholdings, or bank information; completes all new hire setups in the system
  • Leads the process for preparing year end W-2s and other related tax filings or reports
  • Acts as the subject matter expert & main point of contact for employees/managers with questions about payroll policies and pay discrepancies
  • Owns, executes, and maintains reporting processes for the department

Human Resources

  • Assists in employee engagement and onboarding
  • Assists in development and implementation of HR policies
  • Participate in development of HR objectives and systems, including metrics, queries, and standard reports for ongoing company requirements

  • Knowledge of federal and state employment law and compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication and people skills; ability to establish warm connections with employees at all levels
  • Desire to work as a team with a result driven approach
  • Excellent analytical skills: ability to create detailed spreadsheets, charts, and presentations
  • High level attention to detail, organization, and customer service skills
  • Ability to apply discretion and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION and CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field, preferred but not required
  • 3 – 5 years payroll/human resources/business analyst experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook)
  • Experience with HRMS/HRIS systems preferred
