Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Patient Placement Transfer Center Associate, part time.

In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for facilitating patients access into the Hospital and clinical systems by providing admission and bed assignment services. Receives request for bed assignment for timely entry into the hospital systems. Works collaboratively with the admission/transfer nurse to facilitate appropriate level of care bed placement.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Aligns work performance with institution goals, vision, and mission. Uses time-management skills effectively to complete all work assignments and adapts to work time/flow changes to meet the needs of the department and hospital.
    • Facilitates the admitting process. Receives admission request, facilitates appropriate bed assignment and communicates information to staff. Facilitates a timely admission process by obtaining bed availability house wide. Prepares related admission paperwork in advance to facilitate a timely admission process. Validates patient identity reviewing all previously obtained information for accuracy and completeness.
    • Facilitates and coordinates assignment of patients to beds and maintain accurate and current bed board records. Maintains bed board to accurately reflect current status. Accurately and thoroughly creates and updates patients episodes in hospital information systems. Able to address quality issues for junior staff. Works in collaboration with Nurses to assure proper bed placement. Has a working knowledge of necessary payment and insurance authorization needed prior to admission.
    • Uses independent judgment and initiative to identify and resolve issues. Accepts responsibility for quality and quantity of performance. Identifies and resolves problems with junior staff. Participates in department performance improvement activities and work. Offers volunteer assistance to others in completing intra-departmental workload. Seeks information necessary to accurately complete all aspects of the jobs requirements, and accepts new challenges and opportunities for learning beyond daily assignment. Has working knowledge of department and hospital goals, vision, and mission.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School Diploma or the equivalent. Evidence of good interpersonal skills, effective communication skills and creative problem solving. Basic knowledge and use of computer and computer key board

Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's Degree/ 24 credits in a College or 1 year of Healthcare customer service experience.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $39.43 - $39.43 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
