Job Summary:

Canterbury Park is now hiring buffet servers who share our values and passion in the hospitality industry to join our growing team. We offer an exciting and unique atmosphere with competitive pay. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example.
  • Responsible for maintaining a high degree of hospitality, as well as a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
  • Creates high levels of morale, fosters teamwork, inspires collaboration, delegates effectively and coaches and mentors direct reports for growth opportunities.
  • Monitor and maintain the buffet in their assigned area.
  • Under direct supervision by the Catering management and culinary supervisory staff in executing catered events such as large dinners and receptions and small served events.
  • Set-up a buffet in the Triple Crown Club, as well as closing procedures and deposits at the end of each day.
  • Work closely with the culinary team to ensure food is replenished timely.
  • Ensure requisition forms are completed to prep for the next day’s buffet needs.
  • Maintain prompt and courteous customer service to all guests throughout the day.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Supervision:

  • None

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have 0-1 years or more of experience in Catering and Events or related field; OR any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skill and abilities have been achieved.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Providing exceptional service to our guests during events.
  • Must be willing to pitch in with other departments based on business need.
  • Must be detail oriented, have strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Must be able to pass Canterbury Park’s pre-employment screening which includes a criminal background check and verification of work history.
  • Must be able to attain a Minnesota Racing Commission (MRC) license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous cash handling experience preferred.
