Painter Job at Brus Construction, LLC
Overview:
We are a rapidly growing company based out of Blue Grass, Iowa that has been proudly doing business for over 20 years. Brus Construction, LLC started with 3 employees, doing mostly residential room additions and remodel work. We now employ over 22 hardworking individuals and have transitioned into specializing in commercial, plant work, and industrial construction, doing work for several large area businesses. We offer a wide range of construction services and are looking for hardworking individuals to join our team!
Position Summary:
We are looking for a full-time experienced individual that is dedicated and hardworking.
Primary responsibilities:
- Experience in Finish Painting - attention to final details
- Line striping, painting of guardrails, pipes, offices, restrooms, conference rooms, doors, etc.
- Make on-site preparations such as building scaffolding, covering fixtures etc.
- Prep walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint etc.
- Fill cracks and holes with appropriate material (e.g. plaster)
- Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right color or texture
- Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools
- Apply varnish and other finishes
- Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions
- Follow all OSHA standards and regulations
- Proper care & cleaning of all equipment & accessories
- Proper storage, disposal and clean up of all products used
- Assess surfaces to determine proper applications and prep work that will be necessary
- Knowledge of line stripers, paint sprayers, and scarifies
Minimum Requirements:
- Proven experience as a painter
- Knowledge of painting material and how to select, mix and apply them
- Aptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns etc.
- Manual dexterity with excellent balance to work on scaffolding, ladders scissor lifts, etc.
- Conscientious with great attention to detail
- High school diploma
- Valid & unrestricted Driver's License
- Pre-Employment drug screen & physical
- Minimum – 1 Year experience
