Great Plains Mfg is seeking a 1 st Shift Painter for our facility in Salina, KS to support our paint line.
Seeking experienced Painters or those with Skilled Labor experience to train as a Painter for our powder paint system at our Salina Plant.
This position works Monday through Thursday, from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with overtime on Fridays as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities-include the following.
- Paint parts to required specifications for top coat finish
- Learn top coat painting, demonstrate pride in work
- Use paint gun, hoist, manlift, ladder, air gun and other necessary tools
- Follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear PPE as required
- Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a Top Coat Painter is preferred.
- Prior Skilled Labor experience is required for our Paint Training program.
- Ability to physically perform the job
- Ability to pass the required respirator test to wear a paint respirator
- Ability to follow inventory control procedures
- Ability to give strong attention to detail and stay on-task in a fast-paced environment
- Have a good understanding of team concepts and be a strong team player
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools; ability to read blueprints and tape measure, when needed
- Capable of embracing a culture of Lean Manufacturing and implementation of change
- Ability to follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed PPE as required
