Your Challenge
Cascades Moulded Pulp-Indiana seeks a hard-working, diligent self-starter Packer for our production process. This is a high-energy position requiring attention to detail with an emphasis on timely completion of assigned work activities throughout the day. Teamwork is key in this position as others will be performing similar work with each contributing to the total production output. This is an entry level position however, high performance can lead to upward advancement in the company. Applicants need to have a proven track record of reliability, quality work and outstanding attendance history.

Applicant must be able to work shift any 12-hour day shifts then 2 weeks of 12-hour night shifts, working the 2/2/3 schedule, including weekends

Job Description


Reporting to the Crew Supervisor & Production Manager, the applicant will ensure that the product handling is completed on time and with high quality in preparation for packaging.
Specific duties include but are not limited to:
  • Adhere to all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures for health, safety, environmental compliance and follow all PPE and food regulation requirements and standards.
  • Sort, grade, weigh, and inspect products, verifying and adjusting product weight or measurement to meet specifications.
  • Monitor the production line, watching for problems such as pile-ups or plugged dryers and stackers.
  • Shovel, sweep, or otherwise clean work areas.
  • Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to customer specifications.
  • Load materials and products into package processing equipment.
  • Clean containers, materials, supplies, or work areas, using cleaning solutions and hand tools.
  • Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records.
  • Measure, weigh, and count products and materials.
  • Remove completed or defective products or materials, placing them on moving equipment, such as conveyors.
  • Work with various plastic bundle wrapping machines when assigned.
  • Hand stack product as needed.
  • Work in harsh conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.)
  • Comply with the plant’s food packaging safety system.

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Ability to work on foot for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions.
  • Maintain consistent attendance, positive attitude, and initiative.

Job Requirements, Work Conditions & Physical Demands


The following requirements are expected for this position.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Shift / hours flexibility unless otherwise agreed upon.
o Currently 7:00 am – 7:00 pm or 7:00 pm – 7:00 am
o Two-week work day rotation: 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off, 2 on, 2 off
  • Work holidays (other than Christmas) if shift assigned
o Entire holiday work day is at the overtime rate
  • Able to do lifting, pushing, pulling (up to 40 lbs) during the shift
  • Must be able to stand, lift, twist, bend, climb, etc.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
