Beech Grove Asphalt Plant produces commercial rolled roofing. The plant located on the Southeast Side of Indianapolis, is a 24/7 production/manufacturing plant with excellent benefits. Medical, dental, and vision insurance; 401K, competitive wages and overtime.
- Requirements of the position are:
- Properly packaging and staging finished product.
- Maintaining a supply of necessary packaging materials such as: tape; hoods; pallets; inventory stickers.
- Keeping a record of pallets produced and batch numbers used during the shift, record information on Packaging Report.
- Recording and labeling all finished goods packaged during the shift including granule pails, pallets of first quality rolls, and WIP pallets.
- Assisting the Winder in the operation of the palletizer.
- Notifying the Team Leader of any defects in the finished goods or any malfunctions with equipment.
- Inspection of packaging quality. (hood tension, holes, etc.)
- Ensuring that the proper tape is being used to wrap individual rolls.
- Removing any tags left in the rolls by the winder.
- Adjusting and operating the shrink frame system.
- Informing the incoming packager of any problems encountered during the previous shift and their methods used to correct them.
- Removing rolls from the kick off ramp.
- Keeping the Winder supplied with cores and tape along with removing and staging the empty core racks.
- Assist in relacing the line.
